Stopping the Cycle of Pain

During the early years of providing ergonomic workplace consultations, it became clear that back pain sufferers Nichola was supporting had often struggled for years not knowing where to go or what products might help them. They were stuck in a Pain Cycle. So, drawing on the expertise of a team of highly trained, like-minded specialists, Nichola developed a service that provides bespoke, holistic advice to UK companies.

Providing a Road Map to Recovery

This approach helps to identify any particular barriers to an individual’s recovery. Back pain can be exacerbated by bad posture, injury, illness, a musculoskeletal disorder or stress, to name but a few scenarios. Stress can also be a main cause of back pain.

It is therefore optimal to address these issues and refer to other specialists in, for instance, stress management, physiotherapy and nutrition. We encourage our clients to take a proactive, positive route to the ongoing management and reduction of their symptoms.

We do this through:

  • Detailed history of back pain
  • In-depth assessment and analysis of symptoms
  • Workstation risk consultation including a visual Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA)
  • Postural training to supplement any changes that are made to the workstation
  • Ergonomic advice, including contributing risk factors outside the workplace
  • Advice on active working and standing postures

Assessment of clients' other routes to recovery include:
  • Exercise routine
  • Advice offered by other specialists, e.g. physiotherapist, surgeon, osteopath, chiropractor
  • Steps to reduce stress
  • Diet
