PREVENTING MSD RISK IN THE WORKPLACE

What is a musculoskeletal disorder?

Musculoskeletal disorders or MSD's, are injuries or disorders of the muscles, nerves and tendons, joints and discs, that create pain. Work related MSD's (WRMSD) are conditions that effect our ability to work effectively and where work has contributed to the condition.

Why do you need an MSD risk analysis?

At Inspired Ergonomics, we specialise in WRMSD's, providing a 360 degree approach to reducing and preventing pain when working.

In recent times, with the huge increase in home working, we have found that unsuitable set ups, lack of movement and poor ergonomic support has led to a huge increase in:

  • Shoulder and neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Visual Strain
  • Lower back pain
  • RSI

Yet simple but highly effective strategies can greatly reduce the risk of these occurring, or reduce the pain of those who are already experiencing these issues.

We are here to work with you to understand the current areas of risk in your workplace and create a strategy to reduce this.

An MSD risk analysis is an umbrella term for ergonomic consultation services, where we help you to:

  • Meet and exceed the HSE DSE ACT to protect your workers from MSD's
  • Enhancing productivity and wellbeing levels
  • Reduce sick leave

Contact us today to find out how we can help you create a happier and healthier workforce.

Why are assessments so important?

Back pain is multi-causal in its nature, with posture, stress, nutrition and exercise all having an impact on the person’s overall well-being and therefore level of risk of back pain. We check you are doing everything you can to maximise your recovery and educate you as to why that slouch puts pressure on your spine. Knowing the subtle physical and psychological causes that increase your chances of slouching is essential.

So we not only provide ergonomic expertise but will also signpost on to other recommended steps to a speedy recovery. It is our passion to get you better and we are constantly updating our knowledge to stop the cycle of pain for good.

It is far more cost-effective to be proactive than reactive, so we help you to do both, addressing any on-going issues and then helping you to put measures in place to reduce these in the future. It is essential to stop that niggle early in order to prevent it becoming a full-blown pain issue resulting in days, weeks or even months off work.

Contact us for more information and tailored quotes, according to your requirements.

  • Clinical Workstation Assessments – for long term chronic conditions or recovery from injury
