Nichola Adams

Founder and Ergonomist

Nichola is the Founder and Director of Inspired Ergonomics, which she established in 2018. With over 20 years experience, Nichola is a specialist in back pain and musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace, she trained in the biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain — the model that now anchors the company’s wider methodology.

She works with leading UK and international organisations — including law firms, universities, and the BBC — to design practical, evidence-based solutions for physical wellbeing at work. Her practice spans expert consultancy, training, and ergonomics design consultancy for workplaces, alongside ongoing partnerships with rehabilitation providers. As Founder, Nichola has built Inspired Ergonomics into a multidisciplinary consultancy that brings together clinical rigour and organisational reality, while continuing to lead the technical and research direction of the practice.

Nichola holds an MSc in Health Ergonomics and is a Technical Member of the CIEHF, a Registered Member of ACPOHE, and a WELL Advisor (Movement). She is a published research author (Psychological Barriers to Internet Usage), has contributed to expert panels and broadcast media, designed an ergonomic office chair (Corrigo Design), and developed industry guidelines. Her own experience of back pain shapes the partnership ethos that runs through her work — she approaches every engagement as a collaborator, not a prescriber.
